City Of Ottawa Supports Development Of A National Indigenous Centre On Victoria Island

Greetings!

We are very pleased to report that the City of Ottawa has formally expressed its support for the National Indigenous Centre in correspondence to the Prime Minister, Premier of Ontario and others, and I am attaching the related documents for your information.

The momentum to see the concrete manifestation of the vision is growing; and Canada's recent signing of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples adds impetus to the effort.

Please send, (maybe for some of you once again), your words of support for this vision to the Prime Minister, to Paul Dewar , the local MP who has advocated for it twice in Parliament, and Mauril Bélanger,  the other local MP long interested in the project, Circle of All Nations  and others(pm@pm.gc.ca, DewarP@parl.gc.caBelanM0@parl.gc.cacircleofallnations@sympatico.ca) - and lets make that groundswell of support heard at this time of the International Human Rights Day and the closing of the United Nations Decade for a Culture of Peace!

Grandfather Commanda is now 97, still very active, but also frail, and he counts on those of us who have been touched by his tireless efforts, to ignite his prayer for his beloved Turtle Island and Mother Earth, for Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous wisdom, for individual, community and global healing, and for peace, reconciliation, love, creativity and joy in all our lives - so please spread the message along!

With warm greetings from Grandfather Commanda - and many thanks for your support over the years.
